Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur — three cities that contain more history, colour, and flavour than most countries combined. Here's how to do it right.

The Golden Triangle is arguably the most rewarding first journey through India — three cities that collectively deliver Mughal grandeur, Rajput splendour, and the chaotic, electrifying energy of the subcontinent at full volume.

Days 1-2: Delhi

Begin in Old Delhi for maximum sensory impact. The Red Fort is magnificent but what surrounds it — Chandni Chowk's labyrinthine lanes, the Jama Masjid's scale, a rickshaw ride through spice markets — is the real introduction to India.

Day 2: Humayun's Tomb, India Gate, and the Qutub Minar. End with dinner in Hauz Khas Village.

Day 3-4: Agra

Take the Gatimaan Express (90 minutes). Go directly to Mehtab Bagh for a sunset view of the Taj. Rise before dawn on Day 4 — the Taj Mahal at sunrise is one of those rare moments that genuinely lives up to every photograph you've ever seen.

Days 5-7: Jaipur

The Pink City earns its reputation immediately. Amber Fort looming over a hillside lake, the Hawa Mahal's 953 windows, the City Palace complex — Jaipur delivers on every level. Dedicate time to the bazaars: Johari Bazaar for gems, Bapu Bazaar for textiles.

Practical Tips

Book Taj Mahal tickets online well in advance — they sell out. Hire a guide for Amber Fort. The best time to do this circuit is October–March.
